Yippee! It’s time for the 4th annualOAKRIDGE BLOCK PARTY! Join us on the block SUNDAY, SEPT 12th, 1-4 PM for an afternoon of fun, food, friends and festivities!
This fabulous community festival brings local people together with community businesses, services and organizations. Enjoy more than 50 community exhibitors, continuous live entertainment, a great free "all green" BBQ and huge kids’ zone.
This year’s event theme Green Up Your Life, Oakridge! brings additional fun to the block as exhibitors and guests share information and resources for environmentally-friendly living. You'll be able to learn what many local organizations are doing to "green up" their services - and you'll even get to shop for green products right on the block! And be sure to check out the useful resources being shared by the amazing David Suzuki Foundation, a national advocate for the environment. We're proud to support them as our charity of choice at this year's block party. Be sure to make a donation with one of the many Jules-Verne High School students who will be circulating on the block!
EVENT LOCATION The Oakridge area, 2 block radius between 5300-5400 Baillie Street, (Baillie Street is midway between Oak & Cambie) with block closure between 37th & 39th Avenues, in front of Ecole Jules-Verne and Ecole Rose-des-Vents.
BC Hydro is excited to attend this year’s Oakridge Block party.
BC Hydro will promote the “Green Up Your Life, Oakridge!” theme by offering environmentally friendly prizes, like shower timers, to help you reduce your ecological footprint. Remember every kilowatt counts when it comes to conservation.
"I’ve been attending the Oakridge Block Party every year since it began in 2007. I’ve seen it grow each year into an absolutely amazing afternoon of community fun, food and entertainment for the whole family. The Kerrisdale Oakridge Marpole Policing Centre supports the event because it brings people, organizations, services and businesses together within the local community, helping us all know each other better. I look forward to it each September as one of the most fun community events in the fall!" Tony Bulic, Coordinator, Community Policing Centre, Kerrisdale Oakridge Marpole
